What will I find on the Corrector & Concealer page?

One of the secrets to your-skin-but-better results. Corrector neutralizes discoloration, while concealer wakes up your look.

What is concealer?

Concealer is a makeup product that helps mask blemishes, dark spots, and other problem areas on the face. Concealer application often is used for covering dark spots or blemishes, hiding undereye darkness, and reducing the appearance of age spots. At Bobbi Brown, our concealers are designed to help achieve a smooth, flawless look, and they are available in a range of skin-true shades. Find your truest concealer shade with the help of our artists today.

What is the difference between corrector and concealer?

Concealing and correcting are essential for anyone looking to enhance the look of their complexion, but it's crucial to know the difference between concealer and corrector makeup. Our correctors are used to neutralize discoloration, so they’re offered in various color-correcting shades to do just that. Our concealers are then layered over top to create coverage for your skin tone. Both not only help hide imperfections but also give a more even overall look.

What’s the difference between concealer and foundation?

When considering concealer vs. foundation, think of concealer as makeup to provide extra coverage for dark spots or imperfections, while foundation provides all-over coverage to the face. Concealer is applied to specific areas of the face to cover dark circles, age spots, blemishes, and other visible marks, while foundation is applied all over the face to even out skin tone.

How do I apply concealer?

When applying concealer, it’s always a good idea to have a dedicated brush, such as our Concealer Blending Brush. The actual technique for concealer application varies depending on the formula you choose. If using a liquid concealer, use the accompanying applicator or a concealer brush to apply in light, smooth, even strokes across areas you want to cover, including blemishes, redness, and dark spots, and then gently tap concealer with your finger to blend it seamlessly into skin. With cream-based concealer, use a brush to apply where you need coverage and then gently blend with your fingers. If using a concealer stick, like our Skin Concealer Stick, sweep concealer over dark areas and imperfections anywhere on the face. Pat with finger to blend as needed.

How do I choose my concealer shade?

One way to choose your concealer shade is to use Foundation Shade Finder quiz, which not only matches your foundation shade but your corrector and concealer shades as well. Bobbi Brown offers a wide range of concealer shades that match different skin tones and undertones. In addition to using the foundation and concealer shade finder tool, you can always chat with one of our artists for shade matching and advice.

How do I conceal undereye bags and dark circles?

To conceal undereye bags, we recommend using a corrector and concealer for eye bags. First, neutralize discoloration under the eye with corrector, starting at the inner corner of the eye and applying to all areas of darkness. Then, using its applicator, dot concealer over the corrector. Blend below the entire lash line and down toward the cheekbone to cover any darkness or discoloration. These steps should help to conceal any undereye bags or darkness.

How do I use color corrector?

Color corrector makeup products are designed to neutralize specific colors, making them less visible, and to even skin tone. Bobbi Brown's Corrector has been created by artists, and perfected with real women, giving you natural looking color correction. Here is our color corrector guide to help you determine what shade to use: To find your shade, take a look at the discoloration under the eye. If it’s bluish-purple, choose a bisque shade. If it’s greenish-brown, choose a peach shade. If it’s a mix of both, choose the peach bisque shade. If you need assistance finding the right color-correcting shade, reach out to one of our artists for help.
